Description
This salve is based on the 1% Tea Tree Gilead Salve but has added Iodine Tincture and is intended to help with minor cuts and abrasions. The amount of Tea Tree is increased to 10%, the amount used when Tea Tree oil is used diluted in oil. The product contains menthol for pain relief. The amount of Iodine is moderate, as there appears to be less than the original amount (1.5%) added, and only stains skin for an hour or two. The loss of Iodine may be due to chemical reduction. The odour is mostly that of Tea Tree OIl and partly that of the Balsam Poplar rather than much of the Iodine. The Menthol is mostly masked. It seems that because this product is oil based it causes limited stinging effects, even though the Iodine is not Povidone Iodine. The small amount of alcohol present does not cause this effect either. If hypersensitive to Iodine avoid use. If the salve causes swelling, redness or inflammation avoid use. In the case of anything other than minor cuts, chaffing and abrasions see your doctor. Tea Tree oil is a poison so do not ingest the salve. Iodine ingestion should also be avoided.
Ingredients: Olive And Coconut Oil, Beeswax and Vitamin E. Almond, Pumpkin Seed, Jojoba And Avocado Oil, Balsam Poplar, Tea Tree Oil and Iodine.
